Why I love my Google Reader.

Do you have a Google account?  Have you made use of your Google reader?  I have added all the blogs I follow on Facebook to my reader and it makes my life so much simpler!  I can't tell ya how many times I am out and about and see something I want to do/buy/get in on via Facebook but I'm on my iPhone and I can't always do it right then.  Going through all the posts on Facebook can be time consuming and with Facebook being so wonky these days who knows if you'll ever find that post again.  In comes Google Reader.  Since I have set up RSS feeds for all the blogs I follow all I have to do is type in what I'm looking for and it brings everything front and center.  It's also great when I'm making up shopping lists for CVS, Walgreens and numerous other stores or when I'm searching for a coupon.

Have I mentioned how much I love my Google Reader and truly appreciate all the efforts of the wonderful blogs I follow?!?!  Well, I do - on both counts!

Swagbucks = Amazon Gift Cards

I've been trying to figure out a good jumping off point, and Swagbucks is as good as any. Swagbucks is a search engine and then some.  They "pay" you swagbucks randomly for searches you do using their search engine.  As you accrue those swagbucks you can cash them in for prizes.  One of my favorites is the Amazon.com gift card.  It costs 450 swagbucks and the codes are delivered to your swagbucks account.  Then you just copy and paste them into your Amazon account.  Talk about easy.

Aside from just doing searches on their search engine you can also accumulate swag codes from their facebook page, the swag blog, and the swagbucks toolbar to name a few.

***BONUS***

Not sure how long this is good for but....

What they don't mention in that information is the coupons that have been found in numerous magazines for 20% off and $10.00 of your baby purchase.  That means you can get up to 50% off on diapers and if you have 1 of each of the coupons you can stack them (a 20% off and a $10.00 off) making for some amazing deals.

I was able to get a box of Huggies Pull Ups (58 count) for $0.62.  How awesome is that?!?!

Make a couple extra bucks in your spare time

Crazy Coupon Mommy has put together an awesome list of websites to help you earn some cash from home.  You can check it out here. I try to keep all the money I make on surveys, swagbucks and such separate from our everyday budget.  Ideally I like to try to hold onto it for Christmas, but I have been known to use it for diapers & wipes (amazon gift cards) in a pinch or to buy a birthday present when funds are tight.

Thanks for sharing, Crazy Coupon Mommy!

Let me be the first to say "Hi!"

What can I tell you about myself...? Well, I am a mother to 4 awesome kids. C is 8, A is 2.5, E is 1.5 and D is 6 months.  I am married to an incredible guy.  I knew when I first met him that we would be married one day.  I didn't realize at the time that would be 6 years later.  Fast forward another 7 year and here we are.

The last 4 years of our lives have been VERY eventful.  Yes, we've had 3 kids in three years (insanity!!), but for some reason we thought it would be a blast to do that while my husband was in medical school.  (We've never been ones to do things the easy way!)

We are coming upon graduation in May, which is so exciting and just as scary.  We've got a big move ahead of us - the trick to that is we won't know where we are going till March 17th.  My inner planner is screaming.  I can't plan for the unknown, no matter how hard I try!

During my adventures as a self-appointed Domestic Goddess, I have been teaching myself and learning from many of you here in blogland, how to save money.  Weather it be setting up a budget, couponing, up-cycling and so on.  I can't thank you all enough for your tips, encouragement and support.

Of course, when I get such a good deal, or great tip I share them.  Well, as I am sure has happened with some of you, it's gotten to the point that I am spending so much time sharing my deals with people individually that I decided it might be time to start my own blog.  So here I am.

Couponing has been such a huge part of our lives for the past 4 years.  I truly believe that it is one of the reasons we have made it through as well as we have.  Our sole source of "income" throughout medical school has been loans, which are disbursed twice a year.  Making that disbursement last 6 months at a time while housing and feeding a growing family has been challenging.  I am very thankful that we were able to qualify for foodstamps to help us through.  I can tell you, that money was very well spent and stretched as far as I could stretch it.

My ultimate goal, once we actually start making money is to continue with my couponing and start putting all the money I save on every purchase into savings. I can see that adding up to a nice little nest egg quite quickly.  With any luck it will help us pay off the ginormous student loan debt we have accrued.

I plan to share deals, coupons, cool things I have seen and have been shown to me, recipes, DIY projects & pretty much anything else I think might interest others.  If you have something in particular you want to see, email me or leave a comment and I will do my best to find what you are looking for.

Thanks for stopping by.  I look forward to getting to know you guys!
(How I wish my actual signature looked that good!)
